When hanging art in California, it is important to mount pieces with cleats were feasible. The art will stay level and it will not lean forward from the wall surface. Also remember to use Plexiglas covers instead of glass. With earthquakes always a possibility and with accidents that occasionally happen, Plexiglas will not add to your problems. There are many ways to hang art. As many “rules” as there are, there are just as many exceptions. One good starting point is to remember the importance of eye level space on your wall. Another is to place art as if it were a window. A consistent center line throughout the room is normally a good rule of thumb. Do not place art so far above furniture that it is blasting off into orbit, but don’t place it so low that it appears to be slipping down the wall either.
